Our Story
About us. Originally formed in 1987, Mantair is a family run business that is trusted by thousands of customers and has grown to be one of the most established and recognised brands in solving domestic septic tank problems and installing new sewage treatment systems. With an unrivalled depth of technical knowledge and customer service levels, we are the preferred choice for many homeowners, county estates, surveyors, estate agents, charities, councils, loss adjusters, and various other clients.
Initially formed to focus on the design and manufacture of the ‘novel’ Mantair septic tank conversion unit, the Company has been the industry pioneer in septic tank upgrades and conversions since the introduction of the Mantair septic tank conversion unit in the late 1980’s. The Company has evolved over the last three decades to provide a ‘one stop’ solution for all ‘off mains’ drainage applications.
The organisation became a ‘limited company’ in 1998. Andrew Skilling is still today Managing Director, with three of his sons now being Directors within the Company. The Company still today retains its ‘family owned’ status with all shares in the organisation being held by family members. This very ‘human and emotional’ aspect of the organisation creates the ‘family values’ that influence and provide the foundations of how the organisation operates.
Being an active member of the British Water PSTP Focus Group and having over a Century of combined experience in wastewater management within our Senior Management Team, we have unrivalled experience and expertise in environmental and regulatory compliance, wastewater treatment processes, manufacturing techniques, underground tank installations and maintenance requirements.
As an independent company with our own direct labour force we maintain complete control over every aspect of our business, ensuring our customers experience a seamless service. From the initial contact, we strive to ensure our customers receive a dedicated personalised service tailored to meet their needs.
Working for homeowners, surveyors, management companies, estate agents and insurance industry clients, we can offer a complete service for all matters relating to septic tanks and sewage treatment plants.
